Severity
Severity indicates the relative impact of the problem to the user.
It may be correlated with a given set of Symptoms, but is primarily
intended as an independent gradient of the nature of the problem.
Warning: do not add more severity values in an effort to hold new meaning. Instead, use the Symptoms field. |

An unavoidable problem, which makes the entire product inoperative.
- The installation

An avoidable problem which affects a function of the product.
- Can
use majority of function or has workaround.
- Obscure Abend or hang
- Minor performance degradation.
- Significant technical
deficiency/inaccuracy in documentation.
- Minor usability problem.

An unavoidable problem, which renders a function unavailable to the
user/customer.
- Prominent functional Abend or hang
- Major performance degradation
- memory leak, major usability
problem.

- Misspellings
- Bad grammar
- Cosmetic, style, or format issues
- Minor technical
deficiency/inaccuracy in documentation.
